People employ different methods to receive caller tones into a cell phone. For hand sets with MMS facility, data can be transferred by means of sending an MMS or an e-mail from a mobile phone of equal capability. A data cable and software, which are easily available in any shop selling caller tones can also be employed for transferring data into a cell phone. Another device, usually called the Bluetooth Dongle can be attached to a USB port of a computer and data can be transferred from the computer to a hand set and vice versa. However, the latest trend is to buy ringtones online and get them transferred to the cell phone directly from the net using the WAP technology.

However, many songs provided overt the net comes in a zipped form and needs to be unzipped for use in the cell phone. This necessitates the requirement of a software called WINRAR which unzips the downloaded melody. Most ring tone businesses provide them free of cost to their customers along with the caller tones.

However, there are some dangers involved while downloading phone music from the Internet. Users are provided with the choice of either downloading music free of cost or buying them for a small fee these days. But malevolent viruses can come attached with some melodies, if one is not careful enough to verify the antecedents of the provider. These viruses can even shut down a cell phone completely and cost a lot of money to get it rectified. Moreover, pirated music are sold by unscrupulous elements looking for easy money.

But a little precaution can give you a blissful situation where one can enjoy the latest ringtones and show them off too. The effort is little compared to the worth of the end result.
